An Abundance of Telly Programmes

We still haven’t found a new place to live yet, and I’m still living in my mate’s house kipping on his sofa. It’s not as bad as it sounds as I’m still only a short walk from work and I have my computer with me. The big downside is that I don’t get to see Liz every day.

Recently, Andy (the guy whose house I’ve commandeered) got Virgin Media TV and I must say, it’s definitely a step up from what NTL used to be. The on demand stuff is really good and there are quite a few shows on there that I enjoy and some that I have grown to really like, such as Life On Mars.

With this, I’m still working my way though Stargate SG1 (I haven’t started Atlantis yet) and on top of this, the Fall lineup has begun in Stateside.

As a change, there are actually some good shows starting. Some of these are Chuck (a better version of Jake 2.0 with Alex Baldwin), Journeyman (very similar to Quantum Leap but in a different direction). Some shows that I haven’t seen yet but are starting this week are Reaper (guy whose parents sold his soul to the Devil becomes a bounty hunter for Satan), The Bionic Woman (a remake of the 70’s show of the same name) and another show about a vampire detective (not Angel). Along with these are some old favourites returning for another season, namely House and Stargate Atlantis.

There honestly aren’t enough hours in the day to see all of these quality shows… luckily they’re spread through the week so it’s not too bad.

Real Men Love…

It’s late. I’m tired and when I look back in the morning I’m probably going to regret naming this post ‘Real Men Love…’, but hear me out.

I was having a browse over digg.com when I found an article Real Men Love Dark City. For those of you who don’t know about Dark City – it is a 1998 sci-fi noir. For more information read the article.

Anyway, listed on the site were other films such as Army of Darkness, Robocop, Big Trouble in Little China to name but a few. On the list, I own one of the movies (The Fifth Element). I’d just never go around to buying some of the others. I might have a look in HMV tomorrow and see if they have any of the films listed for cheap (I love sales)

Moving Home – Part 1

Yes, it’s another multipart post stream.

Liz and I had recently been made homeless around a month ago when we were given our marching orders by our (now former) landlord. We looked around many places in the surrounding areas but no where was cheap enough, or was really bad for the money being asked per month.

We have since moved back to our respective parents places.

I ended up taking 2 days off last week for moving things out of our house back home – good job too really.

Managed to get shot of a few things that we had accumulated over the years to people in the street such as DVD players and televisions so that made things easier.

At the moment, my room at my parents is full of my junk and Andy’s house has a load of bulky furniture in it which I’m going to go over and sort out at some point today.

Hate moving. And we’ll have to do it again when we find a new place of our own.
