Life On Mars – US Version
I’ve just seen the first trailer for the US translation of the hit BBC show, Life On Mars.
In true American style, they seem to have butchered a perfectly good show. Because it’s set in the 70’s (1972 where the UK one was in ‘73) the trailer shows 70’s style kaleidescope effects and 70’s funk music.
In fact, here is the clip for you to see yourself so you can make your own mind up about it:
Obviously, I’ll watch the first couple of episodes so I can make an informed decision on how bad it’ll be rather than just speculating about how bad it’ll be.
So you can compare, here is the intro from the UK version:
And one of my favourite bits from season 2:
I’ve just got back from seeing Iron Man at the local cinema and I thought it was very good.
Although I never read any of the comics, I’ve read that Stark, played by Robert Downey Jr, is a total ass – something that comes across well, although the character’s alcoholism whilst prominent in the first part of the film suddenly vanishes in the latter of it.
Visuals on the film were spot on and look great in the film. The Iron Man suit moves fantastically realistically, which has always been a pet peeve of mine when people move too fluidly when CG is involved.
I’ll end it there seeing as if I say anything I’ll be in fear that I’ll ruin the movie for everyone reading. Plus I would like to compare it to the comics but not having read any Iron Man I probably wouldn’t be the best person for the job.
