OK, so it’s been a little while since I last updated this site, but I’m hoping to try to get things posted on a more regular basis (I blame twitter and it’s convenience).

Quite a bit has happened since last time:
– I’ve got engaged to Liz
– been made redundant
– got a new job working for my old line manager
– upgraded my phone to a Blackberry 8900
To name but a few things.

Speaking of the Blackberry, Wordpress have just released an application (beta) that allows you to post to any Wordpress blog from your favourite Blackberry device (os 4.2+). I’m trying it out now in fact and it seems really good, so maybe it’ll help me update more regularly than once a quarter!

I’ve just upgraded to Wordpress 2.7. It’s drastically different – lots of AJAX (Asynchronous Javascript And XML) around so it’s very slick indeed.

I also figured that a new version deserves a nicer theme – so I found this one called pixeled by samk. I think it looks quite nice – until I do my own one again anyway!

Like the 6 Million Dollar Man, I have rebuilt it – I have the technology.

Except of course I’m talking about upgrading my blog to the latest version of Wordpress, and not adding mechanical bits to Steve Austin (not the wrestler).

Sadly, I missed the launch day for WP 2.5 but got there in the end.

After a quick few minutes of playing with the system, it seems a bit more streamlined, although admittedly it took me a while to find everything. I haven’t actually played much but as far as writing a new post (like this one) it does seem a bit more friendly.

Grr and argh!

I’ve just realised that I haven’t have my Google Analytics code in the bottom of my page since I changed the theme for my site – including the time of the earthquake!

It would have been nice to see who was visiting my site that day.

Anyway, it’s back on now. Also, my Twitter feed (that shows the latest Twitter) is viewable here.

Anyone reading this might worry that my shiney theme has gone.

Well, as you can plainly see – it has. What you might not see is that I’m in the midst of attempting to build a theme from scratch.

So sit tight and you should hopefully see the new theme taking shape sooner rather than later.

Update: The site theme has finished. I’m still lulling over the width, thinking I may need to add some more padding to the right so that on smaller screens (such as my Eee) it doesn’t push the screen out.

I still like it (for now anyway) and hope that you all like it too.
